Te tūranga | The role  

During the internship, you'll be paired with a buddy who will guide you throughout your journey. You'll also receive expert insight and support from our Future Me team. You'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of professionals, from Grads to General Managers, Business Analysts to the CTO. The sky's the limit when it comes to the talent and experience you'll be exposed to!

Your day to day will look like the following:

• Gain an understanding of how financial markets and financial advice work through our share broking, investments, private banking and insurance businesse

• Be involved with business performance (strategy, digital & analytics) and risk and compliance units.

• Learn the important role this team plays in supporting our distribution advisory units and the value they add

• Using your data analytics skills and business analysis to support daily tasks and improve processes 

• Gain exposure to agile practices, process improvement, reporting and problem solving

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of ASB's strategy, constantly aligning this with our purpose

• Contribute to your Future Me Graduate network, sharing ideas and knowledge, helping to create an environment of creativity and continuous development

Ō pūkenga | About you  

• An almost completed degree (maximum of 2 years left of study), ideally in Finance, Accounting, or Economics

• A positive approach and attitude filled with curiosity and a true desire to learn and grow 

• Diversity of thought to constantly develop new ways of solving problems 

• Resilience and ability to recharge and continuously add value despite obstacles 

• Empathy to understand the needs of each other, ASB customers and the wider community 

• Creativity, inquisitiveness, a desire to strive for progress, and a willingness to fail.
