We are looking for candidates to join our market leading dispute resolution practice in Dubai for six-month internships commencing in August, September, December 2020 and January 2021.
Your role as an entry level member of the practice will be to assist with all aspects of the departmentโs caseload. An internship in our dispute resolution team will expose you to a wide-range of cross-border work, including some of the most complex, challenging and interesting projects and arbitrations in the market.
Department:
Resolving disputes by litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution is a vital part of corporate risk management and strategy. The globalisation of business has resulted in more cross-border disputes requiring high quality and coordinated advice. The increased wealth and dynamism of Middle Eastern economies over the last decade has spurred a significant expansion in cross-border investment and trade involving countries in the region. This, in turn, led to a dramatic increase in the number of cross-border disputes involving the Middle East, which in 2009 led the firm to establish a dispute resolution practice based in Dubai.
A significant proportion of the departmentโs caseload is in the field of international arbitration (a discipline in which the firm has a pre-eminent reputation). However, our thriving dispute resolution practice undertakes a broad range of work, including international arbitration in a myriad of forms, representing clients in litigation before the DIFC courts, undertaking regulatory investigations, managing litigation in courts across the region and advise on a range of commercial issues, including anti-bribery and corruption and international sanctions.
