The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) represents approximately 90% of the private sector general insurance industry. We work with our members, consumer groups, and all levels of government to support consumers and communities when they need it most. This 12-month, part-time program focuses on extreme weather response and provides final-year undergraduates or recent graduates, an opportunity to get a head start in their careers. The program is designed to equip graduates with diverse skills, foster collaboration, and offer meaningful contributions to disaster recovery efforts.
As a Graduate Disaster Response Coordinator, you will support ICA's Mitigation and Extreme Weather Response team in coordinating disaster responses and enhancing community resilience. This involves operational support in large-scale extreme weather event management, conducting research on weather trends to inform disaster preparedness, and working closely with stakeholders such as government agencies and insurers to align efforts in recovery. You will also contribute to the development and execution of strategies aimed at reducing risk and improving recovery efforts in affected communities.
