The Internship:
The RBA 2025/26 Audit Internship is designed to support the development of emerging risk and audit professionals. It offers high-achieving students who are pursuing a degree with an opportunity to obtain first-hand experience working in Australia's central bank Audit Department.
The RBA offers successful candidates a paid six-week work placement over the summer, starting on 11th December (break from 24th December - 2nd January) and finishing early February. As an intern you will be supported by our experienced auditors as you undertake a range of hands-on experience in auditing and risk assessment.
During your placement, you may complete data analysis, control evaluation, drafting documentation and reports and other work that provides an insight into working at the RBA as a graduate. In addition, you will attend targeted training as well as interactive information sessions designed to provide you with a more comprehensive understanding of the role of the Reserve Bank of Australia, and how you can contribute to the work of Australia's central bank.
The skills and qualifications, we're looking for:
The RBA is looking for a high level of analytical and problem solving skills and a genuine interest in working for an institution that influences the lives of all Australians.
Applications are accepted from students in their penultimate year of study, majoring in commerce, economics, finance, accounting, data science, information technology or related areas.
At the end of the six-week placement, Interns may be offered a place on the Graduate Program commencing in February 2027.
Applicants must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency at the time of application. All Intern positions are located in Sydney.
