WA Health is Western Australia's public health system. The state is over 2.5 million square kilometres in size, the largest area in the world covered by a single health authority. We deliver more than hospitals and health services. Our public health programs ensure that Western Australians enjoy a standard of health that is amongst the highest in the world.

About the program

WA Health's 12 month Graduate Development Program is designed to give graduates a strong start in WA Health, equipping them with skills and foundations of leadership that are essential to any career in the public sector.

The program is looking to attract well rounded graduates from a broad range of non-clinical academic disciplines, who are seeking a dynamic and highly advantageous career in the WA public health system.

If you are passionate about contributing to continuous improvement of the health system and community health outcomes, we will be welcoming applications in March / April for our 2027 program. Recent graduates and final year students are encouraged to apply.

Program highlights

• A 12 month program with a range of structured and bespoke training and professional development opportunities
• Participation in Professional Development sessions provided by the Institute for Health Leadership
• 4 discreet program streams including Public Health/Health, Finance & Business, Data Analytics and ICT
• 3 x 4 month rotations across the entire WA Health system, including the Perth metropolitan area, with the possibility of regional or rural placements
• Extensive support network including a program coordinator, buddy (past graduate), mentor and placement supervisors

Applications for the 2027 Graduate Development Program are open now and close on Wednesday 8 April 2026 at 4:00 PM.

We are recruiting for:

• Public Health / Health
• ICT
• Finance and Business Analyst
• Data Analytics and Information Management

Eligibility criteria:

• Successful completion of a recent tertiary qualification, with a completion date (not graduation ceremony date) between January 2025 and December 2026. The tertiary qualification must be a minimum of an undergraduate degree.
• Achievement of a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 65% and above for the tertiary qualification. Section 51 will be applied to this criterion for Aboriginal applicants. Section 66 will be applied to this criterion for applicants with disability.
• You must be an Australian permanent resident or Australian citizen by the end of the calendar year in which you apply, e.g., become an Australian citizen by December 2026.

Applicants graduating mid-year 2027 are encouraged to apply for the 2028 program.
