Main Roads WA Engineering (Civil) Graduate Program

Who we are

At Main Roads Western Australia, Keeping WA Moving guides everything we do. As communities and populations continue to grow, the need for a safe, reliable and sustainable road based transport system becomes even more critical.

By joining Main Roads, you will become part of a leading WA Government agency that values your contribution and invests in your development. We deliver challenging and rewarding work across Western Australia while offering long term stability and security.

About the program

The Graduate Engineering (Civil) Program is a three year structured rotational program designed to build strong technical capability and practical experience early in your career.

The program provides hands on learning opportunities across a range of engineering specialist areas that align with your qualification, strengths and interests. A key feature of the program is a 12 month regional rotation, which supports accelerated learning and exposure to engineering projects that have a real impact on local communities.

We offer positions to recent graduates who have completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). Applications are also welcomed from students who will complete their degree by July 2026 for the mid‑year intake or by December 2026 for the 2027 intake.

On successful completion of the program, graduates are offered permanent ongoing employment with Main Roads.
