The Mila Kaaditj employment program supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander undergraduate students to gain paid work experience while completing their university studies.
The program is open to students aged 18 and over who have completed at least 1 semester of their undergraduate degree. Participants work part time while studying, contributing to statewide projects and initiatives that support economic development across Western Australia.
The program is delivered by the Department of Energy and Economic Diversification in partnership with Nudge and provides structured support, mentoring and development opportunities to help participants build confidence, workplace skills and career pathways.

Participants are placed in roles aligned to their interests, skills and studies. Work may vary depending on business needs and placement areas.

Participants are appointed for an initial 12 months, with the option to extend for a further 1 to 2 years, subject to performance and business needs.
