First Nations Internship Program

Our First Nations Internship Program is designed for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander university students who are ready to gain meaningful, real-world experience in a leading professional services environment.

This is more than an internship. It’s an opportunity to build capability, confidence and community, while working on real client engagements and purpose-led projects that support Indigenous businesses and communities.

About the Program

Aimed primarily at penultimate year* university students, this program provides Australian First Nations students with the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to real-life client projects within your chosen service line
  • Support initiatives that positively impact Indigenous businesses and communities
  • Develop technical and professional skills aligned to your field of study
  • Build strong networks across the Firm, including First Nations leaders and employee groups

From day one, you’ll be part of the team, gaining hands-on experience, exposure to real deliverables, and insight into how professional services supports clients across industries.

*Penultimate year: Second-year students of a three-year degree; third-year students of a four-year degree, etc.
We are flexible with eligibility, if you’re unsure, we encourage you to apply for a discussion.

What you can expect

Real Work. Real Impact.

During your internship, you may:

  • Work on live client engagements and contribute to deliverables
  • Assist with research, analysis and structured problem-solving
  • Support advisory work for Indigenous organisations or community initiatives
  • Contribute to projects that embed First Nations strategy into business practice

You’ll gain practical, transferable experience that strengthens your resume while building confidence in a corporate environment; without losing connection to purpose and community impact.

Structured Support & Mentoring

We know that feeling supported and culturally safe at work matters.

Throughout your internship, you will be paired with:

  • An Indigenous Mentor within the business to provide cultural guidance, connection and leadership insight
  • A Buddy in your immediate team to support you with day-to-day questions and workplace navigation
  • A Coach to guide your development, performance and long-term career planning

You’ll receive regular feedback, professional development opportunities and clarity on potential pathways into a Graduate role.

Connectivity & Community

Alongside formal mentoring and on-the-job learning, you will have opportunities to:

  • Connect with First Nations leadership and employee networks
  • Build relationships with Senior Leaders and peers across the organisation
  • Strengthen skills in storytelling, listening and authentic leadership

The program is designed to foster belonging, cultural connection and professional growth.
