Graduate Program 2026 - Project Management Office Graduate

What if your first job helped build a better, safer, smarter Australia?

At Standards Australia, we’re not just watching change happen — we’re driving it. Every day, we set the standards that protect and empower Australians. From cybersecurity and emerging technologies to environmental management, our work touches every industry, setting the standards that ensure things work the way they should. Join us and help set the standard.

As Australia’s peak standards development body, we collaborate with experts, industry leaders, government, and communities to develop the systems behind the products and services we all rely on here and globally.

About our Graduate Program

Our Graduate Program provides hands-on experience through rotations across our core business functions. You’ll start in our Project Management Office, then rotate through key departments (Standards Development, Finance, and Growth & Development), before returning with fresh perspectives to the Project Management Office and launching your career. Along the way, you’ll discover your strengths, broaden your skill set, and gain valuable insight into how standards contribute to keeping every Australian safe.

What you’ll do

  • Support and run value stream mapping to identify process bottlenecks and inefficiencies
  • Help analyse process waste and performance data for improvement ideas.
  • Shadow Project Managers in Agile and non-Agile projects to learn planning and execution
  • Prepare agendas, dashboards, and reports for stakeholder meetings and governance
  • Assist in analysing processes and recommending improvements for change initiatives
  • Support writing user stories, acceptance criteria, and business cases for new projects

You’ll thrive with us if you:

  • Have a strong interest in project management and process improvement.
  • Are passionate about contributing to work that supports and protects Australian communities.
  • Enjoy collaborating with others and achieving shared goals.
  • Communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Bring problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Show initiative and a genuine eagerness to learn.

What We Offer

  • Mentoring to guide you throughout the program
  • A learning culture that encourages curiosity and growth
  • Regular feedback to support your success
  • Access to professional training, networking and career development opportunities
