Our Vision to be the trusted voice that delivers confidence in a changing world.

Our Purpose is to enable the safe and sustainable progress of Australian communities.

Standards Australia is the nation’s leading organisation for developing standards. For more than 100 years, we have worked with industry, government and the community to support safety, quality and consistency across infrastructure, everyday products and emerging technologies.

As Australia’s representative to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), we help develop and adopt internationally aligned standards that support innovation and sustainable growth. Our people are central to our work, and we are committed to creating a diverse, collaborative workplace where different perspectives are valued and everyone feels included.

Our Graduate Program gives early career professionals the opportunity to contribute from day one. Through hands on work and rotations across key areas, graduates gain real-world experience and insight into how standards are developed and applied.

Join us and be part of the team behind the products, services and systems Australians trust.

Application Process

Step 1: Submit your online application to our Graduate Program

Based on your experience, qualifications and career goals, decide which department to apply for. Then, complete the online application form and submit your updated CV and Cover Letter. This is your opportunity to tell us about your experiences, interests and what attracts you to Standards Australia. Successfully shortlisted candidates will move to the next stage.

Step 2: Phone Screening

If shortlisted, we’ll have a brief phone conversation with you. We'll discuss your background, motivations for applying and answer any questions you may have about the program.

Step 3: In-person Assessment Centre

Our Assessment Centre is designed to help us get to know you beyond your application. You'll participate in a range of activities that may include group exercises, problem-solving tasks and opportunities to demonstrate your communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills.

Step 4: Panel Interview

Successful candidates will be invited to a panel interview with the hiring managers. This is your chance to share more about your experiences, strengths and career aspirations, while learning more about the role and your future team.

Step 5: Offer

Woohoo – you’ve made it!

When you’re successful, we’ll first call you with a verbal offer, followed by a written offer confirming all the details about your remuneration, benefits, and everything you need to know before you begin.
