My time with Hilton Foods as Operations Intern was incredible for my development, and allowed me to gain valuable real-world experience that you just don’t get at University. I started my internship in November, and was immediately immersed within the production environment, spending my first few weeks just focusing on how the factory worked. I then began the project that was assigned to me, and worked closely with brilliant mentors who not only taught me information specific to the project, but knowledge that I could take with me throughout my career. I learnt such a large amount about project management and collaboration within a work context, as well as just what it takes to deliver results with looming deadlines. I was just called back to undertake the role of Junior Operations Analyst, which has me working closely to people with incredible experience, and will allow me to continue to learn and grow in a field I am so passionate about. I am very grateful for the opportunities that Hilton Foods has given me, and to the welcoming environment here that believes so greatly in my development.

I completed my internship within the Finance team at Hilton Foods. I had the opportunity to work on a high-impact project which focussed on analysing the efficiency of production lines. The goal was to identify bottlenecks in the process and recommend actionable improvements that could lead to measurable cost savings. I was trusted to take full ownership of the project, from early data analysis stages to presenting insights and proposed solutions to directors — an experience that really strengthened my confidence and analytical skills.
Being part of such a dynamic and fast-paced environment accelerated my learning far beyond what I expected. Whilst challenging at times, the steep learning curve made the experience really valuable. What stood out a lot for me was the support I received, especially from my direct manager. It was clear how much he invested into my development, often going out of his way to expose me to different areas of the business and involve me in broader conversations. That kind of mentorship, along with the openness and willingness of other team members to help, made the workplace feel really supportive. It was a really valuable experience that left me feeling really excited and confident to start my career journey.

My time at Hilton Foods has been sublime, working with the product development team and assisting on projects such as product launches, cooking validations and so much more, and even working on my own project. I have also appreciated the whole Hilton team, everyone from production workers all the way up to department heads being accommodating and approachable. This has honestly been an outstanding and varied experience for me, and something that I intend to remember for a long time

My time at Hilton Foods commenced as a new Product Development intern which was nothing but positive, and the learnings that I took away from my time have been unique and valuable. As part of the Product Development team, I felt that I was exposed to the real-life workings of product development. The team I worked with constantly involved me in the work they did as well as allowing me to understand how food science can be applied in the real world. Every member of the team went out of their way to share their experience and expertise, adding real, tangible value to my time at Hilton, which I will carry with me through my career.
The best part of my time at Hilton Foods was having the ability to have my own project to manage, present, and make a real difference within the business. The opportunity to have ownership over a real-world project that has a measurable impact. I have found this experience extremely valuable in improving my project management, technical, and interpersonal skills in ways that are only obtained through real-world, hands-on experience. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend Hilton Foods to any potential intern or graduate and believe that it will be extremely valuable in their development.
