About the program

18 months | 3 different teams | 6-month rotations

Our award-winning graduate program has been running for many years and is ranked among Australia's top ten small-sized programs on the AAGE Top Graduate Employers list.

Graduates are hired as permanent employees and spend their first 18 months on the graduate program, experiencing three different teams across our business, known as 'rotations'. In addition to completing three rotations, graduates progress through a structured learning and development plan, have access to senior leaders, and spend time with their graduate cohort forming meaningful and long-lasting connections.

You'll rotate across key areas that drive performance, customer outcomes, and growth. Successful graduates will take two trips to Sydney, Australia for induction week and development activities in their first year.

Insurance Underwriting

Insurance underwriting is a highly technical skill set that is critical to our business. This graduate program focuses on business insurance, which can be incredibly complex. Businesses of all sizes across many industries present unique risks and you will learn what to consider before we offer insurance protection to a business customer.

Within underwriting, you will build technical skills through analysis and underwriting practices, and advanced communication skills, as success in this role will rely on effectively working with many different stakeholders.

As an insurance underwriting graduate, you'll work in three different teams, experiencing different lines of insurance and different types of customers across many industries.

Eligibility

Our graduate program commences once a year each February. To be eligible for the underwriting business area of the 2027 graduate program, you must:

Have completed and passed tertiary education in the two years prior to the graduate program start date, graduating between the end of 2024 and the end of 2026
Be eligible to work in New Zealand for the duration to the program and into a permanent role
Submit a resume and academic transcript with your application. A cover letter is not required.
Be able to start full time in February 2027

Whilst some education disciplines align more to the technical nature of insurance underwriting than others, for example, actuarial, legal studies, economics, business, engineering, we are accepting applications for the insurance underwriting graduate program from any field of study if you have a strong interest.
