TBH

Starting at TBH has been an exciting learning experience, with the opportunity to work across different projects and build on what I studied through my Bachelor of Project Management, majoring in Sustainability. What stood out to me about TBH was how willing everyone was to share what they were working on. From consultants through to directors, TBHers were open to teaching others and sharing their knowledge, which really showed me the kind of culture I wanted to be part of.

My experience so far has been really varied. Working within Strategic Advisory, I spend a lot of time writing reports, reviewing programmes and cost workbooks, and working with my team. I’m also on-site at a data centre project each week, and have had the opportunity to work across IT and renewable energy projects. Outside of project work, I’ve been involved in networking events, site visits, university guest lectures and internal training sessions, which has given me a broader view of what TBH does.

The two-week ElevateU Induction was a great introduction to TBH. We developed technical skills across areas like planning and scheduling, while also hearing directly from TBHers about different service areas and projects. I really enjoyed learning not just about the technical side of project management, but also about the culture and work ethic at TBH.

One of the most valuable things I’ve learned is to take initiative. Before going to my Project Manager with a question, I try to gather the right evidence, think through my conclusion and anticipate the questions they might ask. This has helped me become more confident and take greater ownership of my work. Being trusted to contribute to report writing for a data centre project has been a particular highlight and has encouraged me to think more critically about the work I produce.

I’m looking forward to continuing to work across a variety of projects and expanding my experience across different industries. My advice to future applicants is to show your character. Technical skills can be picked up, but being eager to learn, willing to be taught and corrected, and wanting to be part of the TBH culture will set you apart. And once you start, ask questions — lots of them. It’s how we learn and understand our projects and clients better.

Three words to describe my experience at TBH so far: catalysing, exciting and learning.

For me, TBH stood out because it offered the opportunity to build a career in project management while developing strong technical skills across planning, scheduling and project controls. With a Master of Construction Project Management / Property & Development and a Bachelor of Architecture, I was particularly interested in the exposure to major and complex projects and the opportunity to contribute to real client work early in my career.

ElevateU was a great way to start. It gave me a better understanding of the different services and sectors across TBH, while also giving me the chance to build relationships with the graduate cohort and people across the business. The combination of training, OneTBH sessions and learning directly from experienced TBHers gave me a strong foundation before moving into project work.

I currently work in Planning and Scheduling, with a focus on project controls for data centre projects. There isn’t really a completely typical week, which is something I enjoy about the role. My work can involve developing and updating Primavera P6 programmes, reviewing programme logic and critical paths, analysing milestone dates, preparing scheduling documentation and coordinating information across different stakeholders. There is also a strong consulting side to the role — understanding what the client actually needs and working out how different information can be brought together to create a useful solution.

One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that good project controls is about more than producing a technically correct schedule. You need to understand how the project actually operates and how the information can help stakeholders make decisions. Learning to look beyond the software and understand the relationship between the project, the information and the people using it has been really valuable.

A highlight for me has been contributing to the development of a scheduling and project controls solution for a major data centre portfolio. Rather than simply maintaining an existing programme, I’ve been involved in developing the approach, bringing together different requirements, data sources and stakeholder input into one structured source of truth. Seeing something I’ve helped develop become a practical solution that can support project teams and wider reporting has been really rewarding.

Looking ahead, I’m looking forward to continuing to build my planning and project controls capability, taking on more ownership and gaining exposure to different projects, sectors and services across TBH. I’m also keen to continue developing my client-facing and consulting skills as I progress.

My advice to future applicants is to be yourself and show that you’re genuinely willing to learn. You don’t need to know everything when you apply — curiosity, initiative and an interest in solving problems go a long way. Once you start, ask questions and make the most of the people around you. There is a lot to learn, and people at TBH are very willing to share their knowledge.

Three words to describe my experience at TBH so far: challenging, collaborative and rewarding.

Joining TBH as a Graduate Analyst has been a challenging, transformative and valuable experience. With Bachelor of Architectural Design from Monash University, I was drawn to TBH after reading about the Graduate Program and hearing about previous graduates’ experiences. The level of information available about the program gave me a clear understanding of what to expect and made me feel confident about joining.

The biggest surprise since starting has been the wide range of services TBH offers. I’ve had the opportunity to work across scheduling and planning, cost control, claims and disputes, and schedule risk analysis, supporting projects including a training facility redevelopment, desalination plant, hospital redevelopment, wind farm and renewable project.

Most of my work currently involves updating the client’s schedule and supporting senior team members with project controls. Working full time from the client’s office has also given me the opportunity to build my confidence and gain experience working directly with clients, while still staying connected with my TBH colleagues.

The two-week ElevateU Induction was a great experience. I enjoyed meeting graduates from across different states, making friends and learning more about project management through the activities and assignments. It was a great way to start building connections across TBH.

Starting at TBH has given me the opportunity to build my experience across different areas of project management, and I’m looking forward to continuing to learn, take on new challenges and grow my career.

My advice to future applicants is to be confident in yourself. TBH hires people from a wide range of backgrounds, so don’t be discouraged if your experience isn’t exactly what you think is expected. And for anyone starting at TBH, don’t stress about not knowing everything straight away. You’ll learn a lot on the job, and everyone is more than happy to answer questions and help you along the way.

Starting at TBH as a Graduate Analyst has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Coming from a Bachelor of Design in Architecture, I was drawn to TBH because of the diversity of projects and the opportunity to explore an industry beyond the traditional architecture pathway.

I first connected with TBH at a careers fair at The University of Sydney in 2024 and stayed in touch with the team afterwards. What stood out to me was how approachable and genuine everyone was. Being able to ask questions, learn more about the culture, and hear firsthand about the wide range of projects made a lasting impression and ultimately confirmed that TBH was the right fit for me.

Since joining, no two days have been the same. I've had the opportunity to work across claims and disputes, as well as planning and scheduling, contributing to projects spanning roads, data centres, healthcare, infrastructure, marine works, and waste management across NSW, Queensland, and Victoria. The variety has made every day an opportunity to learn something new.

The two-week ElevateU Induction was the perfect introduction to the business. It gave me the chance to connect with other graduates, learn about TBH's different service lines, and meet Project Managers from across the organisation. It helped me feel part of the team from day one.

One of the highlights of my graduate experience so far has been the people and culture at TBH. The team is incredibly welcoming, supportive and engaged, and there have been plenty of opportunities to build connections with colleagues both inside and outside of work.

The most valuable lesson I've learned is the importance of staying curious and asking questions. Everyone at TBH is incredibly supportive and generous with their time and knowledge, which has created an environment where I've felt comfortable stepping outside my comfort zone. Over the past few months, I've also become much more confident working directly with clients, particularly after attending client offices independently.

Looking ahead, I'm excited to continue broadening my experience across new sectors, spend more time on site, and deepen my understanding of the construction industry by seeing projects come to life firsthand.

Stepping into TBH as a Graduate Analyst has been an eye-opening experience that immediately challenged me to grow while providing an environment rich in collaboration and learning. With a Ph.D. in Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Structural) (Honours) from the University of Adelaide, I joined TBH eager to apply my technical knowledge while exploring new ways to contribute across projects and service areas. From day one, the supportive culture, approachable colleagues, and structured mentorship made me feel welcomed and confident to dive in.

A typical day for me is varied and dynamic, supporting senior staff with a range of tasks, from project planning to data analysis. I’ve been able to develop technical skills across software tools like Visio, Power BI, and Primavera P6, which have enhanced the way I analyze information, manage projects, and present insights effectively. The hands-on experience has been invaluable in building both technical expertise and professional confidence.

The ElevateU Program was an excellent introduction to TBH. Beyond learning about the company’s history, values, and strategy, it provided the chance to meet graduates from across Australia, creating a sense of community from the start. Sessions led by senior leaders were particularly inspiring, and participating in the company’s anniversary celebrations highlighted TBH’s commitment to its people and culture.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue exploring projects across different service areas, expand my skills, and contribute meaningfully to client outcomes. I want to leverage every opportunity to learn, take on challenges, and build a long-term career at TBH.

Following the completion of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Aerospace and a Commerce degree with a Finance major at Monash University, I began my journey at TBH as a Graduate Analyst. Since starting, my experience at TBH has been developmental, dynamic, and evolving, offering continuous opportunities to grow both technically and professionally.

From the beginning, I was attracted to TBH because of the variety of services and industries it works in, and the potential to gain exposure to multiple skills and experiences. A typical day for me as an Analyst has been both engaging and focused. While I initially assumed I would rotate between small tasks on different projects, I quickly found myself working full-time on a single project. This has been enjoyable and rewarding, allowing me to learn deeply about the service line while contributing in a meaningful way.

From the outset, I was drawn to TBH because of its strong reputation, hands-on approach, and the chance to work on high-impact projects across a variety of industries. What stood out to me most was the structured development pathway, the mentoring program, and the collaborative environment where everyone—from consultants to directors—is accessible and willing to support graduates.

A typical day for me as an Analyst starts with a coffee run with colleagues, followed by work assigned by Project Managers, including Program Analysis, constructing reports, and updating project schedules. I often collaborate with a second point of contact when my PM is occupied, ensuring deadlines are met efficiently. Lunches with colleagues often include catching up and playing pool to recharge before returning to project tasks. Being involved in real projects has helped me appreciate how schedules, reports, and deliverables fit into the broader context of project management, and has strengthened my attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and time management skills.

One of my proudest moments at TBH was improving my time management and delivering a Program Analysis ahead of its deadline for the first time—a milestone that reflected the feedback I had been working on and allowed me to see tangible progress in my professional growth.
