Tell us about your role at SG Fleet and what it involves?

I interned as part of the Sales Development team in Business Operations at SG Fleet. My role was really varied, which was the exact opportunity I was looking for. I got to work with lots of different teams across the business, helping to customer insights, analyse data, and report on KPIs. A big part of my work involved looking at how we could improve processes. Whether that was through automation or finding smarter ways of working. It gave me a great overview of how different parts of the business come together and how data can drive better decisions.

What work have you been most excited about by since starting at SG Fleet?

Definitely the project-based work. I really enjoyed being part of initiatives where I could see the direct impact of what I was doing. Whether it was helping to streamline a process or contributing to efficient stakeholder management that led to a new way of thinking, it felt really rewarding to know that my work was making a tangible difference. It’s also been a great way to apply learnings from uni into a real-world setting.

Tell us about your role at SG Fleet and what it involves?

During my internship at SG Fleet, I played an active role in the Voice of Customer programme. Enhancing customer feedback systems across Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. My primary responsibilities centred on designing, implementing, and maintaining feedback mechanisms. Enabling the efficient collection and analysis of customer insights, helping the organisation identify key trends and areas for service improvement.

This experience provided valuable exposure to stakeholder engagement and process optimisation within a corporate environment. As I participated in cross-functional initiatives focused on automation, prototyping, and the exploration of emerging technologies, including generative artificial intelligence. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, I supported the development of innovative digital products and services, contributed to technical investigations, and helped deliver scalable solutions that aligned with SG Fleet’s broader customer experience objectives.

What work have you been most excited about by since starting at SG Fleet?

One of the most exciting aspects of my internship at SG Fleet was contributing to the integration of Agentic AI and automation technologies within the Voice of Customer programme. I was actively involved in designing and prototyping intelligent agents capable of automated feedback analysis and dynamic prompt generation, an entirely new challenge that significantly deepened my understanding of AI-driven customer insight. In addition, I utilised Power Automate to streamline survey workflows and automate the integration of customer feedback. Overall, this project provided me with a clearer perspective on how Agentic AI and automation can be strategically applied to elevate customer experience and support smarter, more adaptive enterprise solutions.

As an Information Technology intern at SG Fleet, I worked across the full technology stack contributing to our digital platform. My role involved both front-end and back-end development, with a focus on modernizing our applications and improving our development processes. My key responsibilities include developing React-based front-end features, building and maintaining API endpoints, and implementing DevOps practices to streamline our deployment processes. Day-to-day, I wrote code across multiple technologies, participated in code reviews, and collaborated with team members on technical solutions. I also learnt about cloud infrastructure and CI/CD practices through hands-on implementation of DevOps pipelines.

What work have you been most excited about by since starting at SG Fleet?

The most exciting work was designing and implementing a new microservice using publish-subscribe architecture. This project challenged me to think about distributed systems design and event-driven communication patterns, which was a completely new territory for me. What made it particularly engaging was the opportunity to build something from the ground up. I learned about message queues, event handling, and how to design loosely coupled services that can scale independently.

Tell us about your role at SG Fleet and what it involves?

I’m currently an Accounting Intern within the Global Finance team at SG Fleet. My day-to-day responsibilities include supporting month-end close activities, performing regular accounting tasks, and assisting with financial reporting. I work with various financial documents to ensure accuracy and consistency, and I conduct calculations that feed into key reports and reconciliations. In addition to routine tasks, I’ve also been involved in identifying opportunities to streamline reporting processes, which has allowed me to contribute to improving internal workflows and enhancing data reliability. My role requires a strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving, and I’ve enjoyed collaborating with both finance and technical teams to ensure our outputs meet business needs.

One of the projects I’ve been involved in is the development of key financial reports. As the point of contact for the finance team, I’ve collaborated with developers to define reporting requirements and conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the reports are accurate and aligned with the business’s needs. During UAT, I’ve been responsible for validating data integrity, identifying discrepancies, and providing feedback to refine the final output. I loved how this project has given me the opportunity to apply my background in Finance and Information Systems in a meaningful way, while also gaining valuable experience in cross-functional collaboration.

During my time at SG Fleet I was interning within the Data & Analytics team. In this role, I got the chance to be involved in some really interesting projects, most notably the development of the Lakehouse platform both here in Australia & internationally. As part of this I've gotten the chance to build ELT pipelines for data extraction & transformation as we expand the platform to SG Fleet's operations in New Zealand & the UK as well optimise existing CI/CD pipeline processes to improve integration with the Databricks system.

What work have you been most excited about by since starting at SG Fleet?

The most enjoyable work I've done during my time at SG Fleet has been the items my manager has allowed me to take the lead on such as transitioning our databricks workspace to our private network, constructing IaC pipelines from the ground up and leading training sessions to share knowledge with our teams overseas as we guide them through the process of creating their own lakehouses. Beyond these, I've also really enjoyed the learning opportunities I've had at SG Fleet, in particular where I've been able to sit in on Data Modelling sessions and attend training days run by our providers.
