Technology & Data Science

Technology & Operations is the engine room of our business. Together we lead the Group strategy and drive transformation of end-to-end customer experience while creating value through digitisation and technology innovation

Our technology teams work collaboratively with each business to deliver on their strategic aspirations and operational requirements. We are enabled by centres of excellence that drive an enterprise-wide focus on technology infrastructure, data, cyber security and engineering.

We also have a number of data science teams across the business that work on projects from building predictive models and unlocking insights to advancing AI safety and governance. You'll learn from experts, experiment with new technologies, and help bring bold ideas to life.

With your degree, you will leverage your critical thinking, curious mindset and collaboration skills to design, develop and deliver brilliant ideas alongside a diverse and inclusive team.

Commercial Insurance

As a graduate within our Commercial & Personal Injury Insurance function, you will contribute to the resilience of businesses and society and provide peace of mind to our customers.

Our teams manage and resolve commercial property, liability, workers compensation and CTP claims. They balance customer care, risk management and commercial outcomes while helping injured people, businesses and communities recover after unexpected events.

Graduate roles in this stream are typically supported to become future Underwriters or Claims Specialists. A Suncorp Underwriter helps businesses protect themselves from financial loss by assessing risk, determining appropriate insurance coverage and pricing, and working with brokers and customers to find the right insurance solutions. Our Claims Specialists support customers and manage outcomes when something happens.

Consumer Insurance

As an Insurance graduate in our Consumer Insurance function, you will advocate for and contribute to initiatives that make out communities better protected such as road safety and home resillience. Our teams are accountable for home and motor product, pricing, distribution channels including contact centres, the digital insurer progam, digital channels, claims, customer strategy, brand and marketing and strategic partnerships.

Both our Motor & Home Prevention and Protection Portfolio teams alongside our passionate Claims teams are looking to develop Suncorp’s next generation of insurance professionals.

There is exciting work happening in our Consumer space, for example our work on supporting a more resilient Australia, best in class brands and customer service, and a leading voice for safer, greener roads.

Accounting

Our Finance & Advice team drives the financial outcomes for Suncorp through the provision of specialist finance and advice services.

In partnership with CFO teams, we deliver expertise providing forward looking finance and advice that preserves and creates value for our organisation.

You'll have the opportunity to get exposure to a range of core accounting and advisory teams (financial, regulatory and management accounting, tax specialists) as well as specialist teams such as capital, investments, strategy, corporate development, reinsurance and climate.

Working in an internal finance team provides an opportunity to work alongside supportive and experienced finance professionals where you will gain confidence, clarity, and direction in your career.

Traditionally you’ve majored in Commerce, Business, Accounting, Finance.

We encourage applications from students who are ready to start their post graduate accounting qualifications (CA or CPA) with study support from us to complete it.

Human Resources

Our people team are at the forefront of what we do! As a function we impact everything and everyone that we come into contact with, such as the people we onboard into the business, the learning opportunities we offer and the capability of our leaders in leading strategy, operations and people.

Grow your knowledge in your typical HR roles but also get involved in more strategic analytical and technical elements too.

Risk

Effective risk management is critical to Suncorp's ability to achieve its strategy and deliver on its purpose of building futures and protecting what matters.

As a Risk Graduate, you’ll have the opportunity to rotate through different teams such as Financial Risk, Enterprise Risk, Data & Analytics, Compliance, Privacy, Financial Crime, Breach Assessment, Regulatory Affairs, Government & Public Policy, Customer Relations and Customer Advocacy. Across these teams you will gain exposure to the diverse elements of risk, and its practices and processes. Help contribute to a team that facilitates smart risk-taking and drives sustainable business growth and innovation, while also building and maintaining the confidence and trust of customers, the community, government and industry regulators.

Internal Audit

Internal Audit provides independent assurance and insights that help Suncorp manage risk, strengthen controls and improve the way the business operates.

By reviewing processes, governance, risk management and compliance practices across the organisation, the team helps ensure Suncorp can achieve its strategic objectives while protecting customers, shareholders and the business.

Graduates in Internal Audit gain broad exposure to different areas of the organisation through a variety of audit reviews and projects, developing skills in stakeholder engagement, data analysis, critical thinking, root cause analysis, reporting and risk assessment while working with leaders and subject matter experts across the business.
